Explore Blowing Rocks

The Nature Conservancy calls Blowing Rocks Preserve “one of its proudest achievements.” The peaceful sanctuary looks like a Florida barrier island from years ago, full of mangroves, gumbo limbo trees, Jamaica caper and railroad vines.

When you visit, get a glimpse of a rare sight: an intact dune habitat with beach sunflower, bay cedar and sea oats. An Instagram-worthy sea grape path winds from the hardwood hammock through coastal strands to the largest Anastasia limestone shoreline on the Atlantic coast.

On the three hiking trails, you’ll find rare and endangered birds, plants and animals, including loggerhead, green and leatherback sea turtles. While you swim, snorkel or scuba dive, look out for urchin, blue crabs and the endangered Florida manatee.

See the Turtles at Loggerhead Marinelife Center

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center is dedicated to rehabilitating sea turtles. Their robust event calendar has lots to do for kids and adults, from excursions to guided tours.

Join a beach walk to learn how sea turtles nest and hatch or visit the sea turtle patients in their hospital. Watch them nest and lay eggs, or see staff release hatchlings into the ocean. Official nesting season in Palm Beach County is March 1 through October 31.

Enjoy a Show at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre

Watch a magical theatre production with local and national artists at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Notable shows include Steel Magnolias, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, West Side Story, and Mama Mia! Tributes to Elvis, the Carpenters, Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel are also on the calendar.

Formerly the Burt Reynolds Dinner Theater, this landmark building was built and operated by the famous actor, who also performed in and directed shows. Martin Sheen, Carol Burnett, Farrah Fawcett, Sarah Jessica Parker and other celebrities also performed on its stage. Today, the not-for-profit is Florida’s largest award-winning regional theatre.

Dive with the Sharks

Jupiter’s proximity to the Gulf Stream makes for a diverse marine ecosystem. Along the coastline you can see tiger, bull, sandbar, silky, dusky, hammerhead, spinner and lemon sharks. Take advantage with a once-in-a-lifetime experience diving with Shark Addicts, an international dive charter based in Jupiter.

Shark Addicts is on a mission to educate us about the vital role sharks play in our ecosystems. Safely dive and snorkel alongside the magnificent creatures without cages. Divers frequently encounter sea turtles, dolphins and other fish as well. Shark Addicts has a five-star rating on TripAdvisor.

Tour the DuBois Park

DuBois Park offers visitors a coastal beachfront, snorkeling area and guarded lagoon. Enjoy an afternoon picnic on the grill or take the kids to the playground. Bring your boat, canoe or kayak for the day and fish in the saltwater from the shore or jetty. The park offers restrooms, showers and parking.

You can also tour the DuBois Pioneer Home, the second-oldest house in Palm Beach County. The Native American site dates back 3,000 years and offers a glimpse into the lives of those who once lived here. Built in 1898, “the house on the hill” is an example of a self-sufficient South Florida pioneer homestead, complete with period furnishings, clothing and artifacts.

Watch the Sunset at Juno Beach Pier

The sunsets at Juno Beach Pier are a photographer’s dream. The full-service Pier House features a friendly guest services team, snack bar and gift store, with fishing gear for purchase or rent, including poles and bait. You can also visit for pier education programs, including group and private fishing lessons for kids.

Take your Pups to the Dog Beach

Have a furry friend? Bring them to Jupiter’s Dog Beach, where they can run off the leash and frolic in the surf. Even if you don’t have a pet of your own, dog lovers can enjoy the beautiful beach and watch the pups playing. Dog Beach makes visiting easy with free parking, free waste bags and showers to clean up after the fun’s over.
